Blowup is a 1966 film directed by Michelangelo Antonioni. The film is about an asshole professional photographer who uncovers a mystery. The story is set in 60’s swinging London and is visual candy to look at.

The most important reasons you should watch it:

1) Jane Birkin and Gillian Hills nude scene.
2) Veruschka von Lehndorff in “the sexiest cinematic moment in history”.
3) Herbie Hancock soundtrack.

David Hemmings spends the entire film running around in a slim-cut moleskin navy blazer, blue dress shirt, white chinos and black italian dress boots. If only dressing oneself was that easy.

Oh yeah, there’s also an appearance of the Yardbirds performing a song and the crowd just stands there listlessly.

This is all around just a great movie. The scene composition is amazing. I just can’t rave enough about this film.

Naomi Watts and Laura Elena Harring star in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive (2001). Labeled as a “neo-noir psychological thriller”, Mulholland Drive is a 147 minute non-linear (?) mind-fuck featuring one of the steamiest lesbian makeout scenes (Naomi and Laura, of course) I’ve ever seen.

clues to solving Mulholland Drive (courtesy of Mr. Lynch himself):

  1. Pay particular attention in the beginning of the film: At least two clues are revealed before the credits.
  2. Notice appearances of the red lampshade.
  3. Can you hear the title of the film that Adam Kesher is auditioning actresses for? Is it mentioned again?
  4. An accident is a terrible event — notice the location of the accident.
  5. Who gives a key, and why?
  6. Notice the robe, the ashtray, the coffee cup.
  7. What is felt, realized, and gathered at the Club Silencio?
  8. Did talent alone help Camilla?
  9. Note the occurrences surrounding the man behind Winkie’s.
  10. Where is Aunt Ruth?

La Piscine: a 1969 Italian-French film directed by Jacques Deray starring the most beautiful people I have ever scene caught in an erotic love-triangle.

French fashion is timeless. Even in 1969 it seems like they were ahead of the fashion-curve. Please note: this film could’ve used a lot more nudity.

p.s. My lover looks/dresses like Jane Birkin from this film. <3
